Minority Teacher Scholarship Program

The minority teacher scholarship program provides a maximum scholarship of $5,000 annually for minority students enrolled in Kentucky's eight public institutions who want to become teachers.

Listed below are the eligibility criteria and continuing requirements for students who participate in the program:
• U.S. Citizen & a resident of Kentucky
• Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
• Declare Teacher Education as major field of study
• Be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing initial teacher certification
• Maintain continuous full-time enrollment OR be a part-time student within 18 semester hours of
   receiving a teacher education degree
• Complete a teacher education program in a prescribed time
• Obtain a Kentucky Teaching Certificate
• Teach one semester in Kentucky for each semester or summer term the scholarship is received
