Dear Faculty and Staff,
I hope you enjoyed your break and your first week back at school. As a member of White College, you can contribute to the success of our students by participating in the many opportunities available, including volunteering at social events, intramural athletic events, and academic opportunities.
Some ways to get involved:
Assist by preparing a dish for our “Cooking for Town Hall Meeting Series.” These are favorite recipes of students, sent in by their parents.
Assist with food for other events like the fiesta Progressive Dinner, International Buffet, and our Chinese New Year.
Tutor 1-2 hours a week in a subject of your choice. We are especially in need of Math, Chemistry, and Biology right now.
Volunteer to present a program on a passion or interest you have with an RA or a member of RCC (Residential College Council).
Advise a club or coach an academic tournament or debate team. Provide educational resources for the White College residents to utilize (videos, pamphlets, books, curriculum, etc.)
Sign up for YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook (Share news. Tell students about upcoming events, campus news, and helpful resources or share research and news with White College faculty/staff, students, and alumni).
Your involvement has a direct and a positive impact on students’ success in college. Please report your involvement by filling out a Residential College Faculty Participation Form! Your White College service will be counted toward tenure consideration. You can also earn up to $500 added to your base compensation annually for involvement with our residential college.
Researchers found that students who communicated with instructors outside
of the classroom exhibited significantly higher achievement gain scores. Let me know if you are willing to volunteer.
Best wishes for a successful spring semester!
Individually, we are one drop
Together, we are an ocean
