Murray State University formally declares its commitment to all laws
mandating affirmative
action and equal opportunity regulations, together with all valid state and
federal regulations
enacted pursuant thereto. The policy of Murray State University is to guarantee
freedom from
discrimination in its operation and administration of its programs, services,
and employment
practices; in its relationships with students, faculty, and staff; and in its
interactions with the
community which it serves.
Murray
State University endorses the intent of all federal and state laws created to
prohibit discrimination. Murray State University does not discriminate on the
basis of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation,
religion, age, veteran status, or disability in employment, admissions, or the
provision of services and provides, upon request, reasonable accommodation
including auxiliary aids and services necessary to afford individuals
with disabilities equal access to participate in all programs and
activities.
The policy of Affirmative Action is an on-going commitment. The policy of
affirmative
action is limited, in that the achievement of its objective removes the
necessity of its
existence. Murray State University is committed to achieving the goals that
have been
established and published in the Murray State University Affirmative Action
Plan. It should
also be known that this Affirmative Action Plan is an official policy of Murray
State
University.
Functions in connection with the evaluation and monitoring of the
Affirmative Action
Program of Murray State University have been assigned to the Affirmative Action
Committee
by the President of the University. To this end, the Committee should have
access to all
records and on-going processes necessary to effectuate its responsibility. A
description of the
composition and specific duties of the Affirmative Action Committee is found in
the
University Governance System policy.
Persons who wish to inspect the MSU Affirmative Action Plan or who seek
