Water Bottle Program

Facilities management working in conjunction with the PCCS and MESS (Murray Environmental Students Society) has facilitated a campaign called “take back the tap” which urges both water conservation and the reduction of plastic water bottle usage on campus. Since the campaign inception in 2010 MSU has installed twenty six water bottle filling stations in the last two years that have diverted the equivalent of over 100,000 water bottles. The filling stations are in nearly every residential hall and classroom building across campus. Facilities management has also been working to replace all traditional watering systems to underground watering systems.
