David and Ashley Dill Distinguished Professorship in Accounting
An anonymous donor pledged $1 million for the Professorship and the university has requested and received $250,000 in state matching funds. The faculty initiated a search for a distinguished teacher and scholar to fill the position. The Department of Accounting has selected Dr. L. Murphy Smith as the David and Ashley Dill Distinguished Professor of Accounting to begin in 2011-12. Dr. Murphy comes to MSU from Texas A & M University and is a nationally recognized researcher who provides the department with additional teaching expertise in international accounting and ethics.
