Making a smooth transition into college life is an important step
toward achieving success. Murray State will help you get started on the
right path through the First Year Experience (FYE) Program. FYE
promotes your success by developing programs, services, courses and
activities to assist you during your first year at Murray State.
FYE helps develop "people networks" that communicate first
year students' needs to the university community. Through its programs
and activities, FYE assures that the university is responsive to the
needs of students just entering college life. FYE's goal is student
success and satisfaction at Murray State University.
FYE is involved in many different kinds of activities, including:
- coordinating the academic advising program for pre-baccalaureate
students
- designing, developing and delivering the FYE 098 classes
- helping develop the curriculum for other 099 classes across campus
- creating and presenting training programs for FYE 098 and other 099
class instructors
- facilitating the Academic Review Committee's work with first year
students who do not achieve a 2.00 GPA their first semester
- acting as an advocate for all first year students
