Meet the Staff

Ms. Kim Crouch
Career Counselor

Kim CrouchKim M. Crouch helps students and alumni with developing resume/cover letter writing and interview skills; how to conduct an effective job search and professional branding strategies, as well as with the career development and job search processes. She also coordinates the National Student Exchange program. Kim is an alumnus of Murray State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and a minor in Marketing.  She has worked for the university for several years in various roles of Student Affairs, including the Office of Recruitment, Scholarship Office and most recently, Career Services. In her spare time, Kim enjoys time with her husband, Stephen and two young boys. She also leads international mission teams each summer, enjoys gardening, cooking and crafting.


Mr. Ray Karraker
Employer Relations Coordinator 

Ray KarrakerRay Karraker manages Racer Tracks, a resource all MSU students are encouraged to utilize for their job search, plans career fairs sponsored by Career Services, and coordinates on-campus interviews. Ray joined Career Services in 2008 as the Coordinator of Cooperative Education and Internships. Ray comes to Murray State from a business background in the banking and financial services industry. He is a graduate of Murray State with a BS in economics (’74) and M.B.A. (’77).  He resides in Murray with his wife, Sabrina. Ray is active in his church and enjoys numerous outdoor activities.

Ms. Colleen Anderson
Administrative Assistant

Colleen AndersonColleen Anderson manages the front of the office as the Administrative Assistant for Career Services, and she is often the first contact students have with the office. A graduate of Murray State with a bachelor's in physical education, she is currently finishing her master's in human development and leadership. While she is the newest member of the Career Services team, Colleen has been with Murray State University since 2009 working in the Educational Studies, Leadership, and Counseling department. She resides in Murray and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, outdoor activities, crafts, and is an avid movie buff.

Ms. Katie Mantooth
Internship Coordinator

Katie MantoothKatie Mantooth builds internship partnerships locally, statewide and nationally and coaches students in finding and applying to internships. She coaches students in developing resume/cover letter writing and interview skills; implementing effective job search and professional branding strategies as well as with the career development and job search processes. She is also the Peace Corps Prep coordinator. Katie graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master's in student personnel services and from Queens University of Charlotte with a bachelor's in corporate communications. Outside the office, Katie is involved in her church's choir and women's ministry; enjoys time with her husband, Dr. Jamie Mantooth, and three children; and can often be found painting, crafting or running.

Ms. Sharon Smith
Graduate Assistant

Sharon SmithSharon Smith coaches students on resume and cover letter writing and facilitates Mock Interviews. She also manages eResume, helps coordinate career events and gives career-related presentations across campus. Sharon received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisville and is now working on her master's in clinical psychology at Murray State.

Ms. Olympia Stewart
Coordinator of Academic Transitions & Advising

Olympia StewartOlympia Stewart advises students who are undeclared and unconditionally admitted, is a liaison for support service offices and assists with retention and recruitment efforts. She teaches an Undeclared Transitions course that focuses on career exploration and success for new freshmen and coordinates the annual Major’s Fair that draws over 300 students and high school students from surrounding counties. Olympia graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor's in Middle School Education (Math/Social Studies) and two master's in Education in Guidance and Counseling and Human Development and Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Communication. Prior to working in the Center for Academic Success, she was the Retention Specialist for the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Murray State. In her spare time, she enjoys leading women’s groups, singing, and traveling.
