What is a Peer Career Advisor?

A Peer Career Advisor is a trained Career Services paraprofessional who commits five (5) hours a week to assist with outreach and career events as well as advise students in job search strategies through one-on-one interactions and group presentations for the 2014/2015 academic year.

Do I qualify?

  • Undergraduate student
  • Rising So/Jr/Sr (must have completed over 30 hours as of Apr 2014)
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Attend MSU for at least one semester at application
  • Written/verbal communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Self motivated
  • Understand significance Career Services plays in the lives of  MSU students
  • Able to train April 2014
  • Able to serve 5 hours a week, fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters when class is in session
