Important information regarding the withdrawal deadline:
The Withdrawal Deadline gives participants the
opportunity to withdraw the study abroad application before any money
has been
spent by Murray State to reserve airline tickets, accommodations, and
other necessary logistics. After money has been spent in a
participant's name, we are unable to
recover any of those fees should a participant need to cancel
participation in the program. If a participant knows they will not be
able to participate in the program for any reason (financial, academic,
personal, etc.) they should withdraw by the withdrawal deadline in
order to avoid incurring any charges to their MSU account. If a participant must withdraw after the withdrawal deadline, they will only be
refunded the amount that MSU can recover from what has already been paid on the participant's behalf.
The
withdrawal deadline is on the same day as
the scholarship deadline, so students will not yet know whether they
will receive any scholarships to help fund their study abroad program
before
they decide whether or not to withdraw. Since there is no guarantee
that a student will receive any scholarships, applicants should have a
plan to fund their study abroad program in the event that they are not
awarded any scholarships.
