Shawn Smee - Director


Shawn is currently the Director of the Office of Recruitment at Murray State University. As an MSU graduate, Shawn worked as an admission counselor from 1998-2001 and just returned as the Director in August 2008. His territory includes Calloway and Marshall counties.

Roslyn White - Associate Director for African American Recruitment


Roslyn is the Associate Director of the Office of Recruitment for African American Recruitment. She became a member of the Office of Recruitment staff in 2003. Her territory is includes a portion of Louisville, KY in Jefferson County and Haywood, Madison, Shelby and Tipton Counties in Tennessee.

Jennifer Young - Assistant Director for Outreach Services


Jennifer graduated from Murray State in 1987 with a B. S. degree in Journalism. She started working at Murray State the next year. Throughout her years at Murray State she has worked in Undergraduate Admissions, Career Services, Student Activities and Student Organizations. She has been in the Office of Recruitment since 1997 and is now Assistant Director of Office of Recruitment. Her husband Mike (class of '85) is Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. Both daughters, Kaytlin and Kelsey, are now students at Murray State. Her territory includes high schools in the Jackson Purchase area.

Tara Hawthorne - Coordinator of New Student Programs


Tara is currently the Coordinator of New Student Programs at Murray State University. She has been with the University since 2009 where she previously served as the Coordinator of Greek Life and Student Organizations. Tara received her B.A. in Criminology from The Ohio State University and her M.A. in Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University in Louisiana. Tara will coordinate special events such as Racer Days, Abroad 101, Summer Orientation, Racer 101, Service 101, and Admitted Student Open House.

Joshua Jones - Admission Counselor


Joshua graduated from Murray State University in May 2008 with a B.S. in Marketing and in December 2011 with a Masters in Business Administration. During his time as an undergraduate Joshua, was an active member of Franklin Residential College, Alpha Sigma Phi l fraternity, campus recreation, and the residential college counsel.His favorite Murray State traditions are Racer Athletics, All Campus Sing, Up till Dawn, and Midnight Breakfast. His territory includes Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Kara Mantooth - Admission Counselor


Kara graduated from Murray State in 2009 with a B.S. degree in Public Relations and again in 2011 with a M.S. in Human Development & Leadership. She is a legacy of Murray State, with her father (Bob) graduating from MSU in 1975 and her mother (Sheree) graduating in 1980. Kara was a very active student on Murray State’s campus. She participated in numerous student organizations, honor societies, Greek Life and Student Government, serving two terms as Student Government President. Kara began working as an Admission Counselor in the Office of Recruitment in July of 2010 and her territory includes high schools in South Central and Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

Bryce Dalrymple - Admission Counselor


Bryce is a 2009 graduate of Murray State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and History.  His current territory is the state of Tennessee.  In his free time he enjoys working out and watching the Racers basketball team.

Shannon Bishop - Admission Counselor


Shannon graduated from Murray State with a B.S. degree in Public Relations. As a student, she was involved in a variety of student organizations, including Greek Life, honor societies, professional student organizations, and Student Ambassadors. She believes that getting involved on campus is a valuable part of the college experience at Murray State and encourages all students to seek out the opportunity to affiliate with student organizations. Upon graduating she became a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Career Services and Department of Organizational Communication. Shannon is passionate about assisting college-bound students find a university that will work best for them. Her territory includes Missouri, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, and Hawaii.

Chris recently relocated to Murray, KY from Jonesboro, AR where he received his MA in Communication Studies from Arkansas State University. His territories include counties in eastern KY and the state of Ohio.

Kelsey Dublin - Admission Counselor


Kelsey graduated from Murray State University in May 2011 with a B.S. in Marketing. She is now pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration. As an undergraduate, she was actively involved with Alpha Omicron Pi social sorority as well as Student Government Association. Kelsey has been employed by the Office of Recruitment since August 2011. Her territory is the state of Alabama.

Rachel Stewart - EMT Systems Administrator


Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Systems Management from Murray State University in May 2008. She has been employed by the Office of Recruitment since September 2007. Rachel provides technical support to Enrollment Management, manages departmental websites, and prospective data.

Cheryl Hicks - Administrative Assistant II


Cheryl is the office manager for the Office of Recruitment. She moved to Murray while attending Murray State after high school. While she did not complete her secondary education, she did remain in Murray to raise her family. Now that her children are grown, Cheryl has returned to Murray State not only as an employee, but as a non-traditional student who is pursuing a degree in Office Systems. She and her husband enjoy all that Calloway County and the lakes region has to offer. They enjoy camping, fishing and OHV trail riding and they love doing this with their three grandkids.

Clover Paradise - EMT Marketing Systems Specialist


Clover is the EMT Marketing Systems Specialist for the Office of Recruitment since August 2003.  She is responsible for data entry, mass mailing operations and telecounseling for undergraduate recruitment.  She is a senior pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health.  In addition, she is the President of Rho Sigma Kappa, OSH Honor Society, advisor for Gamma Sigma Sigma, National Service Sorority, and a member of the MSU student chapters of American Society of Safety Engineers and American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Adrian Benton - Campus Visit Coordinator


Adrian Benton is the Campus Visit Coordinator. She is in charge of facilitating all individual and group visits to Murray State's campus for prospective students. She is originally from Savannah Tennessee. Adrian received her Bachelor of Art in Criminal Justice from Murray State University in 2004. She has been employed at Murray State University since April 2009 and received her Master of Science in Organizational Communication in August 2011. She is a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority. Adrian is currently pursuing her second Master’s Degree in Human Development and Leadership.
