Murray State University offers two categories of scholarships, Academic Achievement and competitive scholarships.  Academic Achievement Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen at the time of admission.  Competitive Scholarship consideration requires students to complete the MSU Scholarship Application in the STARS system.  The scholarship application can be accessed by selecting the link "Apply Here for Scholarships" to the left.

It is recommended to have at least a 25 ACT, a 3.2 GPA and leadership responsibilities to be competitive. College level work should be with a 3.0 GPA or better.

Competitive scholarships are not awarded until after the application deadline. Please take your time to submit a thorough, complete application.  If you do not follow directions or complete all requirements of the application process, you may be eliminated from the selection process.

Students must apply online every year.  Current MSU students can access their online application via myGate on the Financial Aid tab.  The deadline for application for all undergraduate (high school seniors, current college students, transfer students) and graduate students is January 15th each year.
