Center for Communication Disorders

The Murray State University Center for Communication Disorders is home to the speech and hearing clinic and two academic programs.  Our academic programs include an undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders, a pre-professional program leading to a Bachelor’s degree. This four year undergraduate degree program prepares students for graduate study. The Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology leads to a Master’s of Science. Since 1982, the graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology at Murray State University has been accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. The goals of the program are to prepare skilled entry level speech-language pathologists by preparing graduates to meet ASHA certification standards and KY state licensure requirements.

The Murray State University Center for Communication Disorders offers assessment and treatment for communication disorders. The Center’s clinic offers hearing testing. The Center’s Speech and Language Clinic offers speech and language assessments and treatment for a wide range of speech (articulation, voice and stuttering), language (delayed/disordered development, aphasia, traumatic brain injury) and swallowing disorders for infants, preschoolers, school-age children and adults at reduced cost.

The Murray State University Center for Communication Disorders integrates our academic and clinic programs to enhance learning at both the undergraduate and graduate level by providing opportunities for students to observe and practice classroom theories in a clinical situation. The Center for Communication Disorders clinic provides exceptional care to all our clients using evidence-based practices and state of the art equipment.
