Master of Arts Degree in Teacher Leader

The M.A. in Teacher Leader program at Murray State supports teachers' desire to develop their leadership skills and competencies. Graduates will be ready to apply this degree to their current positions right away. Estimated program completion time is 5-6 semesters.

The newly revised program offers:

  • 8-week courses
  • a web-enhanced format that allows students to primarily work from home
  • cohorts based at Murray State's central and regional campuses
  • concentration areas in Advanced Pedagogy, Advanced Learning and Behavior Disorders, Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, and Dual-credit Credentialing

Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration (Principal Preparation Program)

The Principal Preparation program at Murray State leads to an M.A. in Education Administration. Upon completion of this program, you may complete an exam which further leads to certification as a school principal. Estimated program completion time is 4 semesters.

Superintendent Certificate Program

This 12-credit-hour program leads to certification as a superintendent. Courses are taught by experienced superintendents. Estimated program completion time is 3-4 semesters.

Director of Pupil Personnel Certificate Program

This 9-credit-hour program is designed for practicing school administrators and leads to certification as a director of pupil personnel. Estimated program completion time is 2-3 semesters.

Specialist in Education Degree in Education Administration

The Ed.S. in Education Administration results in all of the following district-level certifications: instructional supervisor, director of people personnel, and superintendent. This program consists of up to 21 credit hours, which also count toward our Ed.D. bridge program. Estimated program completion time is 5-6 semesters.
