Wellness Track
The Wellness track in Exercise Science prepares students to develop, organize and manage fitness and wellness programs. Graduates work with other health care professionals to provide clients with information designed to manage or prevent health issues through physical activity and healthy lifestyle education. The wellness track also prepares students for professional certifications in fitness or strength and conditioning (such as those from ACSM and NSCA) and for graduate study in the field. Individuals with an exercise science degree work in a variety of settings such as fitness facilities, hospital wellness centers, cardiac rehab, commercial settings, rehabilitation facilities, and other agencies. Supply and demand of graduates in exercise science is well balanced. The majority of jobs are in localities with a population of 50,000 or larger.
