Many scholarship opportunities are available to occupational safety and health students and range from general scholarships for any student who meets basic eligibility requirements to those sponsored by companies and individuals specifically targeted toward occupational safety and health students. The following is a list of scholarships awarded to students during the 2015-2016 academic year. Scholarship information for the 2016-2017 academic year will be updated as it is received.

Hattie Mayme Ross Scholarship
Recipients of the scholarship shall be graduate students in the Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology at Murray State University, who meet the MSU stated eligibility requirements to be admitted into their respective program, and who must maintain the stated eligibility to have the scholarship renewed for more than one semester.
- The maximum amount of time that one recipient may receive this award is four semesters.
- Strong preference shall be given to students who are residents of Kentucky.
- Recipients are encouraged, but not required, to volunteer five hours per week as service hours.
- Financial need shall be considered when selecting recipients.
- The value of the scholarship is at least $10,000 per year, paid in two equal installments.

JCSET Graduate Research and Conference Travel Grants
Graduate Research Grants provide up to $1000 to be used for supplies and/or travel to research sites in support of student research. Application periods are in fall and spring semesters. Students awarded a research grant must present the results of their research during Scholar’s Week, as either an oral or a poster presentation and at a regional, national or international conference.
Graduate Conference Travel Grants provide up to $1200 for students traveling to conferences in their field to present their research. Students awarded a Conference Travel Grant must provide the screening committee with an accepted abstract prior to dispersal of funds.
Applicants for these grants should submit an application form, a proposal (see application form for details), a brief curriculum vitae and 2 letters of recommendation (one must be from the major advisor). Application deadlines are Oct. 15 and March 15, each year. Students will be notified of awards by Nov. 15 and April 15.
