I
would like to take this opportunity to introduce the viewers of this website
to the Department of Social Work, Criminal Justice and Gerontology. This
department offers a Bachelor of Social Work Degree, and a Bachelor of Arts
or Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. We also offer an interdisciplinary
minor in Social Gerontology. These
degree programs represent excellent opportunities for those who seek an
honorable profession with a good salary; but who also want to help those
in need of social and legal services.
Career opportunities for social work
majors include fields such as child welfare, mental health, school social work
and social work in medical settings. Criminal justice graduates can work
in law enforcement, the court system, correctional administration, pretrial
release and adult and juvenile corrections.
Viewers of this website, especially students and parents, should feel free
to contact members of our faculty and staff for additional information.
We in the Department of Social Work, Criminal justice and Gerontology are
eager to serve you.
