Application for Admission to the Dietetic Internship Program

• Personal Letter: Prepare a letter of introduction, two page minimum, addressed to the Selection Committee, Dietetic Internship Program. Describe your interests, ambitions, goals, strengths and weaknesses. Build a case as to why you would make a good intern, dietitian and citizen. Use the letter to cover important points and unique qualities about yourself that are not described elsewhere in your application packet.
• Application: Download the application to your hard drive by clicking on Application. Complete the application, print, and enclose in your packet.    
• GRE Scores: A minimum combined score of 800 is required for the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). When taking the GRE, request that your scores be mailed to #1494 Murray State University. Also enclose a photocopy of your scores in your application packet.
• Recommendation Forms: A minimum of three recommendations is required. Please click on Recommendation Forms to download the forms and provide to your references. Enclose the completed recommendation forms in your application packet.
• Transcripts: A copy of transcripts from all universities attended should be mailed directly to the address below. Photocopies or “Issued to Student” copies will not be accepted.

Computer Matching
All applicants to the Murray State University Dietetic Internship (DI) program must participate in computer matching. Computer matching enables a student to be assigned to a requested internship program that has also expressed interest in the student. A private company called D & D Digital Systems conducts the matching process. Students should request instructions and a mark/sense cards from their undergraduate program or from D & D Digital Systems to participate in computer matching and to prioritize their preferences for internship locations. Your preferences must be mailed to D & D Digital Systems by February 15th. There is a fee for participation in computer matching that must be paid with your prioritized preferences for internship locations.

D & D will notify each student applicant about the dietetic internship program to which he or she has been “matched”. The student must fax or e-mail the matched Dietetic Internship Program Director within two days of receiving notification from D & D Digital Systems to confirm acceptance of the internship assignment.

Application for admission to the MSU Graduate School

Once you receive notification that you are admitted to the Dietetic Internship Program, you will then apply to the MSU Graduate School.
