Mrs. Timmons is originally from south Alabama, and has years of experience in academia and nutrition. She has worked as a public health nutritionist and coordinator of WIC Programs in Alabama and a county extension agent for family and consumer science and 4H programs in Georgia. She also served as a nutrition consultant for hospitals and Head Start Programs in Kentucky. Before joining Murray State University she was an instructor in the Department of Nutrition and Foods at Auburn University. Mrs. Timmons earned the M.S. degree in Nutrition and Foods from Auburn University, where she also received her B.S. degree. She is a registered and licensed dietitian (R.D. and L.D.) Mrs. Timmons is the director of the undergraduate program in dietetics and teaches the introductory nutrition, food science, and community nutrition courses.
