Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for admission, students are subject to the following criteria:

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Sophomore standing with 30 or more semester hours of credit
  • Completion of the following courses (or equivalent) with a grade of "C" or above: ENG 101, ENG 102, CHE 105, CHE 106, BIO 101, BIO 228, PSY 180
  • Academic advisement to develop a plan of study


OVERVIEW:

The first year at Murray State is devoted to study in university studies requirements. These courses provide a foundation for all subsequent program requirements. Nursing courses begin in the second year and extend throughout the third and fourth years. Clinical experiences are provided in a variety of health care settings in many of the surrounding regions such as hospitals, physician's offices, community and mental health centers, homes, occupational health nursing settings, schools and homeless shelters.

Any student interested in applying for admission to the baccalaureate program must make an appoint for advising with a nursing department faculty member. Interested students should contact their assigned advisor or contact the Nursing Department at 270-809-2193.
