Community College

Prepare to succeed

If you need a good job sooner than later, or if you always wanted to go to college but don't quite meet the admission requirements, Murray State Community College is for you. Murray State University Community College expands your opportunities, preparing you for further higher education or for immediate employment.

An associate degree from the Murray State Community College can set you apart from other job applicants while also preparing you for a bachelor's degree should you choose to continue your education.

We understand how life’s circumstances can sometimes get in the way of intentions. If you want a college degree but, for whatever reason, don't meet the requirements for baccalaureate admission, give the Murray State Community College a try.

Program of Instruction

The Community College operates as a separate and distinct academic unit of the University with its own administrative structure. A selected block of coursework separate from the University course schedule will be offered.

Coursework will be limited to classes included in the Community College curriculum and to entry-level courses required for completion of the appropriate associate degree. Courses which would afford a student a career education and/or a vocational/technical orientation are integral to the Community College experience.

Note: The seven-hour block will be offered during both evening and daytime hours to accommodate the needs of nontraditional students, many of whom are expected to enroll in the Community College. The block will offer an active, process-oriented approach to learning and will provide real-life, vocation-based classroom experiences.
