The BVC is a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. We are state funded
to supply Kentucky veterinarians and livestock producers with a central
facility for diagnostic testing. MISSION STATEMENT The Breathitt Veterinary Center will make maximum use of all resources
available to meet needs of veterinarians and animal owners for diagnostic
data, research results, instructional programs, and field investigations.
Mission accomplishment will assist in the reduction of suffering by
animals, preserve and expand animal production industries and train
animal health technologists. The field service veterinarian is available without charge to make instate farm visits for epidemiologic consultations when requested through the referring practitioner. Applied, practical research at the BVC addresses many of the disease situations encountered by food animal owners. The BVC's continuing education program includes timely news media releases, published material and programs of interest to veterinarians and producers. The BVC is part of an interdependent team dedicated to the efficient
provision of animal products to the consumers of Kentucky. The producer,
veterinarian and the BVC work together using the latest scientific techniques
required to reduce losses from animal diseases and to promote animal
health. Click here to go to their web site: www.murraystate.edu/cit/bvc |
