The Shoe Tree
When two Racers fall in love, it's a tradition to nail their shoes to a tree in the Quad. While its origins have been disputed over the years, it is safe to say the Shoe Tree has been a tradition unique to Murray State for more than a half-century. A few Racers have even returned to campus to hang their children's shoes on the tree. There have been many different Shoe Trees over the years, but the tradition continues.
