Clearing a Browser's Cache

Internet Explorer 8

  1. From the Safety menu in the upper right, click Delete Browsing History…
  2. Uncheck Preserve Favorites website data and check Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History
  3. Click Delete

Internet Explorer 7

  1. From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History
  2. Next to Temporary Internet Files, click Delete files…
  3. Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

Firefox 3.5 (Windows)

  1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data…, and then check Cache and Cookies.
  2. Click Clear Private Data Now.

Firefox 3.5 (Mac OS X)

  1. From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History... .
  2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range. To clear your entire cache, select Everything.
  3. Click the down arrow next to Details to choose what history elements to clear. Click Clear Now.

Firefox 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 (Windows)

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options…
  2. Go to the Privacy tab, and click Settings…
  3. Select what you would like to have cleared.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Press Clear Now. (Note: After the preferences have been set the first time, just go to the Tools menu and click on Clear Private Data.)

Firefox 3 (Mac OS X)

  1. In Firefox, from the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data.
  2. Make sure Cache and Cookies are checked, and then click Clear Private Data Now.

Safari

  1. From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari...
  2. From the menu, only select Empty the cache and Remove all cookies, then press Reset.

Opera

  1. From the Tools menu, click Delete Private Data.
  2. Click the details button.
  3. Select what you would like to have cleared.
  4. Press delete.

Google Chrome

  1. Click on the Tools icon (Wrench icon) in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Options.
  3. On the Under the Hood tab, click on Clear browsing data…
  4. Select what you would like to have cleared.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.
  6. Click Close.

Mobile Safari for iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad)

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings, and then tap Safari.
  2. At the bottom of Safari's settings screen, tap the buttons for Clear Cookies and Clear Cache. To confirm, tap Clear Cookies or Clear Cache again.
