      With the approval of the Liberal Arts Committee, an individualized concentration, such as European Studies, Rural Studies, or Pre-Medical Studies, may be created, using appropriate courses from selected liberal arts concentrations.
     
    Required Course - 3 Hours
     
      LBA 438   Seminar in Liberal Arts
     
      Liberal Arts majors complete a major research project combining any two of their areas of study. Students work with advisors from each of their areas, as well as with the LBA Coordinator, to produce a polished, high-quality capstone project that may serve as a writing sample for future employers or graduate or professional school admission.
     
    Internship - 0-6 Hours
     
      Liberal Arts majors may arrange an internship through the Cooperative Education program in the Career Services Office. Prior approval of the Liberal Arts Coordinator is required as well.
     
    Foreign Study - 3-6 Hours
     
      Liberal Arts majors are required to participate in a study abroad or exchange program. Students may choose from programs ranging from one week to one year in duration, and may choose to study in any of the many locations offered through CCSA, KIIS, and other programs supported through the University's Study Abroad Program.
     
    Required Minor - 21-24 Hours
     
    Total Curriculum Requirements 120-140 Hours
     
     
     
     
    The requirements listed above are an example of what is applicable to most students entering Murray State University at the present time. Criteria as they may relate to individual students may vary. The primary source is the Undergraduate Bulletin applicable at the time of the student enrollment.
