1967 - Friday April 14 at 3 P.M. a small group gathered, Joe
Hammock presiding-appointed by W.B. Webb to discuss need for such
a group Atlanta, GA
1968 - First Organizational meeting - Roanoke, VA, April 5 1
P.M. Joe Hammock, presiding, Ed Stevens, Acting Secretary, a meeting on
Wednesday April 3 had preceded this meeting. Jay Knopf was elected chair,
and advisory group was elected, Howard Miller and Ed Stevens. Bill Verplank
reported for the committee that had been appointed on Wed. Evening. 40
were present

1969 - Trip planned to the Bahamas, canceled, Meeting at the
Sheraton-Biltmore in Atlanta December 12-14 Program consisted of Computer
discussion, Graduate and Undergraduate Programs, Draft status, need for
More Ph.D.’s for teaching and lack of teachers of psychology, Ed Stevens,
Chair
1970 - Ray Schrader, Chair-Paul Woods made a presentation on
the status of the Master’s degree in reviewing the history of the APA’s
treatment of the Master’s. Bob Vidulich presented Paul Dressel’s Book
“The Confidence Crisis”, Bill Verplank suggested that salary information
be collected and Bernard Caffery headed this group. Joel Dubrow began
his study of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs, and Bob Vidulich presented
his ideas for the Graduate Study book which was adopted by the APA
Bob Vidulich was elected to serve a two year term, it was agreed that
the chair would rotate between large and small institutions, and meet the
first weekend in December, the first effort was also made to include 2
year institutions. Advisory group: Howard Miller, John Kelton and Faye

1972-Bob Vidulich-Atlanta American-The changing role of the Department

The Chair as bookkeeper-Sunday morning-business meeting. 5 dollar fee was
voted.

and that the organization was in a fiscal crisis.
