The Murray State University Chorale is a non-auditioned choir dedicated to the study and performance of great
music of all musical epochs. The University Chorale offers singers the opportunity to continue to develop
their singing skills and experiences after high school in a strong performance-oriented environment. No
audition is required. However a special emphasis is placed on musical development and growth including music
literacy skills and healthy vocal technique.
Committed to providing the young voice major and other singers the opportunity to perform some of the
greatest choral literature in the world, the University Chorale presented Faure's Requiem during
the Fall 2003 semester and were part of the large choir with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and Chorus
in their production of Beethoven's 9th Symphony during the Spring 2004 semester. Repertory for the 2004-05
academic year includes Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Maurice Durufle's Requiem.
