Job Opportunities



Opportunities for employment and careers in nutrition and the foodservice industry are abundant and varied. Nutrition jobs and careers span from fitness centers and community heath to private consulting and government positions. If your interests are business oriented, positions in management, marketing and communications are available. Completion of the dietetics program will qualify you to become a registered dietitian (R.D.). Registered dietitians have all of the opportunities available in community nutrition and business plus careers requiring the R.D. certification. R.D’s are employed in hospitals, extended care facilities, physical rehabilitation facilities and public health.
 

Foodservice management offers numerous exciting and well-paid careers. Continued growth of healthcare facilities assures graduates of many opportunities in healthcare foodservice management. Graduates qualify for positions such as Assistant Foodservice Directors and Purchasing Managers. Other opportunities are afforded in food sales and marketing. Graduates interested in the public sector can earn excellent career salaries in country clubs, restaurants and lodging, sports stadiums, cafeterias and foodservices in manufacturing plants.
