Management of Technology (Master of Science Degree)

Objective
The Master of Science degree in management of technology is designed for
individuals who wish to further their knowledge of management, leadership, and
technology. Emphasis is placed on involvement with real situations and problems.
The student, with an advisor, will develop and interdisciplinary plan of study
to increase skills in specific technical areas and to strengthen abilities to
communicate effectively in the management of technical functions.

Program Requirements
In addition to other college and university requirements for graduate admission,
this program requires successful completion of a Bachelor of Science degree or
prior completion of undergraduate mathematics and science prerequisites as
directed.

The program includes 30 semester credit hours with at least one Industrial and
Engineering Technology departmental course to be selected from each of the
categories identified below:

  • All students are required to take at least one statistics and/or research course.

  • All approved programs must include at least 15 semester credit hours at the 600 level.

  • At least 15 semester credit hours must be IET, CET, ITE, TSM or GAT courses offered and approved by the Industrial & Engineering Technology Department.

  • Students may take no more than 3 independent study courses i.e. IET 571, IET 578, or IET 678, IET 679, or IET 697. Independent study courses may only be scheduled with prior advisor approval.

  • No more than 2 courses total may be taken from COM, ECO, FIN, MGT, or MKT.
