Service Learning is an educational experience that is built upon a working partnership between the university and a community group or organization. Service Learning classes enable students to apply academic knowledge and critical thinking skills to meet genuine community need. What makes Service Learning different from other service activities is the emphases on the application of course content to the service activity and the expectation that the activity provides mutual benefit to both students and the community partner.
