The Office of Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) performs environmental assessments prior to the university's purchase of property. These are done in an effort to detect environmental hazards and arrange for their abatement in a timely and cost effective manner. Hazards such as asbestos, lead paint, PCB’s, and chemical waste can often be identified during the environmental assessment.
