The following scholarships are available to GCM students.

Presidential Scholarship

Candidates considered must have a minimum 28 ACT composite, and either rank in the top ten percent of their graduating class or have a 3.75 on a 4.0 scale. Strong leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills are required. The Presidential Scholarship is a four-year scholarship covering in-state tuition, a ten-meal plan, and a double occupancy space in university housing.

John W. Carr Scholarship
This award is for a four-year scholarship worth $4,000 per year. Applicants must have a minimum 28 ACT composite, and either rank in the top ten percent of their graduating class or have a 3.75 on a 4.0 scale. Strong leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills are required. This award will be applied to any direct expense.
There are many scholarship opportunities available for students. It is important to remember students must apply every year to be considered for scholarships, with the exception of renewable awards, which state otherwise.

Roy Luckett, Tom Gray Scholarship
NEC and the Pitman Company established the Roy Winn Luckett, Tom Gray Scholarship endowment fund in honor of Roy Luckett, former CEO of NEC and distinguished leader in the printing industry. It provides scholarships for students who are committed to entering Graphic Communications Management as a career. Luckett served as a distinguished lecturer for the program for five years. Dr. Tom Gray was the founder and chair of MSU’s Graphic Communications program for 25 years.

Gravure Education Foundation Scholarships
The Gravure Education Foundation (GEF) awards scholarships to GCM students enrolled at Murray State University. Two $1,500 GEF scholarships are awarded each year. Scholarship recipients enter the GEF writing competition and compete with other students in the United States for a $1,500 cash award from Sun Chemical Corp. for the best student paper about gravure. Students classified as juniors, with a 3.0 or higher grade point average, also may compete for the prestigious $1,500 GAA Thiele Award and the $1,500 Hallmark Award.

Louisville Graphic Arts Educational Fund
The Louisville Graphic Arts Educational Fund offers competitive scholarships to students from the Louisville area enrolled in the Graphic Communications program.

Printing Industry of St. Louis
GCM majors who are residents of the St. Louis area can apply for scholarships that are made available by the Printing Industry of St. Louis and by the St. Louis Club of Printing House Craftsmen. In addition, students who are enrolled or accepted in a graphic arts management-related program are eligible for the David W. Jones Scholarship. The recipient must intend to seek employment in the St. Louis area upon graduation. Student must have a 3.0 GPA and submit an academic transcript. Award amount is $500 per semester.

Quebecor World Scholarships
Quebecor World Graphic Communications scholarships are awarded to students who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors, and who are pursuing a course of study in Graphic Communications. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required. The GCM faculty select the award recipients.

Flexographic Foundation Technical Assoc.
The Flexographic Technical Association offers competitive scholarships to students enrolled in Graphic Communications Management programs in universities throughout the United States that offer courses in flexographic printing. Scholarships are for students with an interest in careers in flexography. GCM faculty members recommend applicants for these scholarships. They must have a sophomore or junior standing and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Midwest Screen Printing Assoc. Scholarship
The Midwest Screen Printing Association offers scholarships to students majoring in graphic arts study directly related to screen printing. Students applying for this scholarship must be a sophomore, junior, or senior, maintain a 2.5 GPA or better, and have taken either a high school, or university, level course related to screen printing.

The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation
The Print and Graphic Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), is a not-for-profit, private, industry-directed organization that dispenses undergraduate college scholarships and graduate fellowship assistance to talented men and women interested in graphic communications careers. The mission of the PGSF is "To strengthen the print and graphics industry by providing scholarship assistance."
College students pursuing careers in graphic communications can compete for approximately 300 scholarships to be awarded for careers in the graphic communications industry.
These scholarships are renewable if the GPA of a student is maintained at an acceptable level, usually 3.0 or better. Applications can be downloaded from the PGSF Internet site at www.pgsf.org.

Printing Industry Association of the South Educational Trust Fund
The Printing Industry Association of the South (PIAS), a non-profit trade association, is dedicated to assisting the entire industry to continue to expand in the region and help the industry prosper. Across the seven-state region; Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and West Virginia, there are 520 member companies. GCM students who have a parent that works or has worked for a PIAS member company can apply for scholarships.

(EDSF) Worldwide Document Communication Scholarship
The EDSF scholarship awards program was established to recognize and support the vital role that education plays in the success of electronic document communication companies. EDSF scholarships are awarded to qualified students who are preparing for careers in this growing and dynamic industry. A minimum of 17 scholarships are available each year.
EDSF scholarships are awarded to full-time students who are committed to pursuing a career in the field of electronic document communication in the areas of: document preparation, production and/or document distribution, including one-to-one marketing; graphic communication & arts; e-commerce; imaging science, printing, web authoring, electronic publishing, computer science or telecommunications.
Scholarships are based on any one or a combination of the following: scholastic achievement, application essay, participation in school activities, community service, honors and organizational affiliations, and education objectives. Depending on specific donor criteria, other elements may be reviewed, such as geographic location. The minimum GPA is 3.0 or a ‘B’ average. Students outside of the U.S. may be considered for scholarships.
