Produced by Graphics Communications Management at Murray State University, with the support of the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation, the tapes show printing operations and technology. They're process-oriented, not equipment-bound. Professional graphic artisans and technicians handle the narration, while the action tells the story. The tapes are equally at home in new employee orientation sessions, educational programs, or as a refresher course for experienced or returning workers. And, they're concise and clear, as well as comprehensive.

The videotapes in the series cover many topics including:
Operating small and medium-sized offset presses
Rotogravure printing
Layout and design
Prepress operations, including camera, stripping and paste-up
Typesetting
Screen printing
Offset and flexographic platemaking
Desktop publishing
Newspaper operations

Others are designed specifically to provide information on graphic arts careers to students for use in school career programs or employee recruitment. They feature discussions between students and industry leaders and explore what graphic communications will be like in the 21st Century.
