Special Project

Mock trial and model UN

College of Humanities and Fine Arts

Mock trial student group Murray State University's Department of Political Science and Sociology sponsors two exceptional student organizations —the Mock Trial Team and the Model United Nations Club. These student organizations afford students, who come from many disciplines across campus, the opportunity to engage with professionals working in the judicial system as well as those working in international affairs and politics. Educational opportunities for our students, such as these two exceptional academic clubs in the Department of Political Science and Sociology, are made possible due to private support from alumni and friends.

Gifts and club sponsors are needed to provide funding for student travel and competition expenses. Student costs for these competitions range from $500 - $2000 per student per season —a financial impediment for students and their families. Sponsoring a student or even funding travel for a competition not only makes possible excellent experiences for our students, but it also supports the academic reputation of the program and the University—helping us to recruit the best and brightest students!
