Operation Graduation

Student Affairs

Veteran student standing on campusOperation Graduation at Murray State University provides additional financial support to U.S. military veterans who are working toward completing their bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Throughout Murray State’s rich history, so many of our student veterans have experienced war or have served their country in other ways.  Student veterans are some of the most dedicated and selfless students that have ever walked across Murray State’s campus.

Consistently recognized since 2011 as both a G.I. Jobs Military Friendly School and a Yellow Ribbon institution, we are committed to supporting our military families during their transition to student life.  Operation Graduation was created in 2015 to provide our student veterans the opportunity to complete a college degree and to ease some of the financial stress of achieving this dream.

Operation Graduation is supported entirely by private donations, including gifts from Murray State employees, alumni, and friends – many of whom are veterans themselves. Although most veterans receive the G.I. Bill, there are additional expenses that a student veteran incurs that are not covered through this bill. Nearly half of our student veterans are supporting their families while completing their degree. Your support to help us endow this scholarship will help alleviate some of these additional cost burdens such as textbooks for our student veterans and their families.
