Our office
The Office of Equal
Opportunity works to ensure that the university makes a good faith effort at providing a working and learning environment free from discrimination and harassment. Applicants for
employment, employees, and prospective and enrolled students of the
university are protected against discrimination on the basis of race,
color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status,
and sexual orientation.
Our focus
- educating students, faculty, and staff about their rights and responsibilities with respect to harassment and discrimination
- investigating, processing, and assisting to resolve illegal discrimination and harassment complaints
- facilitating and monitoring compliance with federal and state laws regarding equal opportunity and affirmative action
- working with employees, prospective employees and patrons with disabilities to ensure the university is accessible
- developing an affirmative action plan
- monitoring the diversity representation at the institution
- enhancing awareness of and sensitivity toward diversity
- providing training on equal opportunity laws, policies, prevention of sexual harassment, valuing diversity and other related topics
- monitor the institution's hiring efforts

To develop partnerships with faculty, staff, and students to continually make progress toward an equal opportunity climate and an environment free from illegal discrimination and harassment.
