Gina Shipley Winchester's first day as the Executive Director of Regional Outreach in the President’s Office at Murray State University was August 20, 2007. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Director/Co-op Coordinator for 13 years in Career Services. She also teaches a Youth & Nonprofit Leadership class as an adjunct instructor. Gina started her career in nonprofit as the Western Region Director for the American Heart Association and worked four years in Paducah, KY. In the spring of 2006, Gina was elected to serve a three year term as the Staff Regent for Murray State’s Board of Regents and served two terms as Staff Congress President.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in organizational communication from Murray State University.  

A Kentucky Colonel, Ms. Winchester is past vice president of Leadership Murray Alumni and past annual support chair for the Murray-Calloway County Healthcare Foundation. She served as a member of the National Advisory Board for the Walt Disney College Program, National Association of Colleges and Employers, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Higher Education Leadership Development Program, Order of Omega and Alpha Omicron Pi Social Sorority. She serves as ex-officio for the Community Education Advisory Council, West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance and volunteers with West KY Mentoring, United Way, Calloway United Benevolent Services (CUBS), American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky Class of 2011.

Because of Gina’s passion for working with non-profit organizations and her desire to make a difference in the world, her favorite quote is: “People will not believe the words of your mouth until they feel the touch of your hand.”  Gina is married to Donnie Winchester, Owner of Raceway Auto Sales in Murray, KY. Donnie and Gina are the parents of two children, Amanda age 20 and John Ryne age 16.

Bentley has worked with the Office of Regional Outreach since February 2009. As Project Specialist, she manages the Regional Outreach Grant Program and works closely with grantees to support their project work in the 18-county service region. She is responsible for shepherding grant proposals through the vetting process with the Regional Outreach Advisory Council, coordinating grants contracts via the MSU Office of Sponsored Programs, data collection and reporting, website maintenance, grant writing, and other special projects as needed. Bentley was recently appointed to serve on the Experiential Learning Advisory Committee, a group that provides feedback on the progress and implementation of MSU’s new Quality Enhancement Plan, “Bring Learning to Life.”

Before settling down in Murray, Bentley experienced the adventure of making multiple cross-country moves with her husband. During that time she enjoyed working as a preservation assistant with the Penn State University Library System, a research technician with the Montana Legislative Services Division, and a technical writer/editor for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Bentley holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and is currently pursuing a bachelor of fine arts degree with an emphasis in metalsmithing and art history at Murray State and is eager to commence master’s degree studies in the near future.

Jonathan is a Murray State graduate and started in the Office of Regional Outreach in the spring of 2013. He keeps up the day-to-day workings of the office and assists in planning for special events. Before coming to Regional Outreach, Jonathan worked as a reporter and producer for MSU's NPR affiliate station WKMS.  He now works with regional nonprofits through the Capacity Building Alliance to provide training opportunities for nonprofit leaders and volunteers. In addition to the CBA, Jonathan manages the GetConnected volunteer management website for MSU which pairs up student and faculty volunteers with the organizations that need them.  Jonathan is currently working on a Masters in Public Administration at Murray State.
