About Dr. Robertson

Dr. Robertson is the Vice President for Student Affairs at Murray State University. He has previously held administrative and teaching positions at Marshall University, Georgia Southwestern College, and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Robertson received his bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina, his master's degree from the University of Tennessee, and his doctorate from West Virginia University. He has been at Murray State University since the fall semester of 1991.

About Peggy Whaley

Peggy Whaley is the assistant director of the Office of Student Engagement and Success at Murray State University. In this role, Mrs. Whaley leads retention and student success initiatives. Mrs. Whaley came to Murray State in 2012 with academic degrees from Colorado State University. She has been a student success advocate in higher education for over 14 years. Since her arrival at Murray State, Mrs. Whaley has been teaching and advising first-year students and working collaboratively with academic and student affairs to implement a student success seminar. Mrs. Whaley has published scholarly articles, received a number of grants, and presented at state and national conferences on her student success seminar collaborations. Mrs. Whaley enjoys the opportunity to help college students explore their opportunities for success and resolve issues and habits that may be barriers to reaching their goals and dreams.

About MeLissa Cooper

MeLissa Cooper is currently the Director for Student Support Services at Murray State University. She previously held positions on the Murray State campus in Sponsored Programs, University Libraries, and Mathematics & Statistics. MeLissa received her Bachelor of Integrated Studies and master’s degree in Human Development and Leadership at Murray State University. She has been at Murray State University since April of 2002.

Joining Murray State in March of 2017, Matt Purdy is responsible for all operational and strategic decisions affecting Career Services on campus. Since arriving in Murray, Matt has met with a wide range of constituents, from high-schoolers to alums, along with employers and area business leaders, to learn what makes Murray tick. His prior experience includes technology, sales, manufacturing, and health care. Matt comes to Murray State from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he was in charge of Campuswide Employer Relations. In addition to working for SIU, he holds an MBA ('06) and marketing ('04) degrees from SIUC. Matt resides in Murray with his wife and family, including a four-year-old daughter and one-year-old son.

About SG Carthell

S.G. Carthell is the current Senior Director of Diversity Initiative and has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications. He is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and activities that are designed to enhance the academic success and retention for multicultural students. S.G. received his bachelor's degree from Ball State University with a focus in criminal justice and criminology. He received his master's degree from Miami University with a focus in Mass Communications & Media Law. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western Kentucky University. S.G. has been at Murray State University since the fall of 2004.

James Smith is currently the supervisor of the University Post Office. His prior experience includes service with the United States Army where he was a supervisor in an Army Post Office. James began his work at Murray State in 2005 as a mail carrier.

About Angie Trzepacz

Angie Trzepacz is currently the Director of University Counseling Services. She was previously the Director of the Psychological Center at Murray State and before that worked as a clinical psychologist at a community mental health center in a suburb of Boston. Dr. Trzepacz received her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and her master's degree and doctorate from the University of Cincinnati. She has been at Murray State University since 2008.

about Abigail K. French

Abigail K. French is currently the Coordinator for Women's Center and Educational Programs at Murray State University. She provides programming on campus concerning issues such as: sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, eating disorders, and social justice issues. In addition to programming, Mrs. French provides individual counseling to Murray State students, faculty, and staff. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in organizational communication and psychology and Master's of Science degree in clinical psychology from Murray State University.
