Lauren
Moore, 2008 MSU alumna and former Racer Girl, was recently
selected as a St. Louis Rams Cheerleader.
With
a strong background in dance, Moore has become an outstanding
addition to the Rams squad. Tryouts started in April of
this year, and included a three-week process where each
contestant learned two dance routines, a sideline routine
and participated in a photo and interview session. With
over 100 contenders, Moore was one of 25 women selected
for the 2008-2009 squad.
As
a team, the Rams Cheerleaders serve over 700 hours of charity
service and make over 1,000 public appearances annually.
“The charity events are such a rewarding experience and
the people we have the opportunity to meet are just unbelievable,”
says Moore . She and the rest of the squad recently returned
from a week in Cancun for a team photo shoot.
The
Benton
, Ill., native said becoming a Rams Cheerleader is something
she has wanted to do since high school. Eager to continue
dancing in college, she joined the Racer Girls Dance Team
as a freshman at MSU, serving three years as captain. Prior
to graduating with a degree in marketing, she was a member
of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Accounting Society, Marketing
& Management Club and Student Ambassadors. She participated
in MSU intramurals, was a Student Government Association
student worker and served as a 2005 Miss MSU Scholarship
Pageant choreographer. She also participated as a Miss MSU
contestant in 2006 and 2007.
"It
has already been such an amazing experience and the season
hasn’t even started yet,” says Moore . “I am definitely
glad that I chose to do this.”
