MSU
graduate Rex Geveden, a 2004 Distinguished Alumnus of the University,
has been named president of Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville,
Ala. The appointment was effective August 1.
Geveden,
46, earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 1983 and 1984,
respectively, both in physics. He worked at Teledyne in the 1980s
as a technologist before taking a job with NASA, where he worked
17 years.
Before
being named president at Teledyne, Geveden had served as associate
administrator at NASA and had oversight responsibility for all
NASA programs and field centers. Geveden previously served as
NASA chief engineer.
Before
going to NASA's headquarters in Washington, D.C., Geveden served
as deputy director at Marshall Space Flight Center.
Los
Angeles-based Teledyne Technologies is Teledyne Brown's parent
company. Teledyne has about 1,500 employees in Huntsville, doing
space, defense and commercial work.
