Sexual Harassment
A Guide for Murray State University
Students, Faculty and Staff

President's Message

Sexual harassment is a form of discrimination that violates state and federal law as well as university policies. Murray State University is committed to providing a classroom and workplace environment free from sexual harassment. The university views sexual harassment of any individual as unacceptable and grounds for disciplinary action. Complaints are investigated promptly and appropriated action is taken.

These web pages are intended to introduce the reader to the various forms of sexual harassment, its legal definitions, and the remedies available to victims. Further information is available through the staff and faculty manuals, The Student Life Handbook, and the Office of Equal Opportunity. I ask each member of the Murray State University community to review this information and to join in our efforts to keep our campus free from sexual harassment by complying with the spirit as well as the letter of the law.
