1. LEGAL ASSISTANT, Office of General Counsel. Full-time, 12 month, non-tenure track position to begin November 2009. Qualifications: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Must possess strong organizational and office skills, including typing, computer processing, and scanning documents; initiative, multi-tasking, and working independently are required. Must have strong analytical skills and be detail and task oriented. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Must be comfortable using available resources to search for various forms of data. The willingness and ability to work occasional extended hours or weekends is required. Familiarity with the organization of Murray State University is preferred. Responsibilities: Initial gathering and assessment of data and records, preparation of correspondence, legal documents, and memoranda, organizing and maintaining files and sub-files, file legal documents using the U.S. District Court's Electronic Case Files system, monitoring contractor compliance with state equal employment hiring requirements by gathering and assessing data regarding employee demographics, review and initiate the routine processing of Open Records Requests, and other administrative duties. 2. MARKETING SPECIALIST, Center for Telecommunications Systems Management. Full-time, non-tenure track position to begin January 2010. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Experience with student recruitment required. Experience with Guidance Counselors and secondary school personnel required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Working knowledge of current telecommunications curriculum and programs preferred. Responsibilities: Assist the staff in the Program of Distinction in Telecommunications Systems Management to promote all aspects of the program. Assume primary responsibility of student recruitment for both undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as specialized initiatives supported by grant funds. Plan and direct Cyber Academy. Will build relationships with organizations for placement of interns and graduates. Develop and implement a public relations plan for the Program of Distinction. 3. EDUCATIONAL SITE COORDINATOR, Hopkinsville 2+2 Program, Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education. A full-time, nine month position at the Murray State University Hopkinsville Regional Campus to begin August 2010. Qualifications:  Master's degree in education required, doctorate preferred.  Faculty rank and tenure track status assigned according to appropriate credentials.  Public school teaching experience PreK-12 required. Experience with optical sensors in aquatic environments required. Experience with cyberinfrastructure and creation and maintenance of web pages required. Must have experience with database structure. Experience with HIS databases preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must show evidence of ability to collaborate with counterparts in the field. Responsibilities: Deploying and maintaining optical fiber lake buoys and stream cyberinfrastructure. Will work with GLEON and HIS data bases and information technology system at the university. Will interact with managers and researchers at other locations.deploying similar cyber infrastructure. 5. COORDINATOR II, Adventures in Math and Science (AIMS), Department of Upward Bound Math and Science Program. Full-time, 12-month position to begin December 2009. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, Health Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering or related field preferred. Master's degree in Counseling, Education, Human Services, Communications or related field preferred. Two years experience working with low income, first generation students, parents, and high school personnel required. Must possess knowledge of college admissions, academic requirements, financial aid process, and web page design. Strong oral and written communication skills and time management skills required. Must be willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekend. Responsibilities: Plans workshops and activities for participants during the academic year. Coordinates daytime classes and evening classes during the summer component. Conducts bi-monthly school visits and college preparation workshops. 6. ADVANCED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER (ARNP), Department of Health Services at Murray State University. Ten-month, full-time; two-month, part-time salaried position to begin in January, 2010. Qualifications: Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky; Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner program; certified as an adult or family nurse practitioner and registered in the state of Kentucky as an ARNP required. Demonstrated ability to practice without a physician on site is required. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and treat from 20-30 clients daily is required. Experience in an ambulatory health care facility required; experience in treating adults with more complex health issues preferred; experience in presenting health education programs preferred. Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and possess a desire to be part of a professional nursing team that provides health care services for the university community. Responsibilities: Work in a collaborative arrangement with the Health Services' consulting physician; provide individualized health care for clients based on the rules and regulations of the Kentucky State Nurse Practice Act; participate in the outreach wellness program.
