Welcome to the Residential Network (ResNet) at Murray State University. We help connect students to the Internet by providing them with direct Internet connections in their residence halls.  Compared to standard modem dial-ups, average transmission speeds for Ethernet connections are considerably faster and no phone line is required.

An invaluable learning tool, ResNet allows students to perform research and correspond with faculty from the comfort of their rooms. You are automatically subscribed to ResNet, and costs are included in your  residential college fees each semester.

If you experience problems when using ResNet, please contact us at resnet@murraystate.edu. Please include your residence hall name, room number, your name and a specific description of the problem.

If you’d like to start getting your computer ready for ResNet, please see our Frequently Asked Questions and follow the directions for your computer type.

Want to make sure your room is ready?

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have the proper connections in your room.  If you do NOT have something that looks like the picture below on your wall you need to email resnet@murraystate.edu and tell us your name, room number, and what building you live in.  We will get it fixed as soon as possible.

Also, Information Systems will be conducting training/information sessions in the residence halls to make sure that you have what you need to connect to the network.  Check back to this site for details.  If you want to attempt this setup yourself, check out the Frequently Asked Questions page for all of the information you will need.
