Overview
The spring break study tour is an excellent opportunity for students to gain first-hand knowledge of their field in another country. Participants in the spring break program will be enrolled in a full spring semester course with the London spring break study tour a required portion of the credit awarded for the course.
The London, England study tour visits popular tourist sites as well as field-specific sites. Sites visited on past study tours include:

*Students who are utilizing Federal Financial Aid for the cost of this program can provide proof of this aid at the time of the first deposit. If the aid is enough to cover the full cost of the program, no payment will be required. If the aid is enough to cover a portion of the program fee, the amount due by the first deposit deadline will be the Total Financial Aid Package minus the Program Fee.
Accommodations
Participants are housed in double or triple accommodation for the duration of the program. Single rooms are often available for an additional cost. The 2009 spring break program will be housed at the Royal National Hotel, a short walk from the British Museum, Covent Garden, and Oxford Street and a stone's throw from the Russell Square tube stop. The program fee includes:
- MSU Tuition (for spring semester full-time students)
- Airfare
- Housing in double rooms
- Breakfast daily
- Subway pass
- Airport transfers
- Group excursions and activities
- Program deposit
The program fee does NOT include:
- Housing in single rooms*
- Lunch and dinner daily
- Passport fees ($107)
- Personal spending money
- Books
- Transport to Nashville for departure or from Nashville upon return

Financial Aid & Scholarships
Federal financial aid applies to the cost of study abroad programs. Contact the MSU Student Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility. Scholarships are available specifically for study abroad with MSU and can be found at the Scholarship button on this website.

Travel
All participants will travel together via airplane from Nashville to England with MSU faculty and/or professional staff. As a short-term group program, participants are required to travel on the group flight. Local group travel in England for program excursions and activities will be done by a combination of private coach, train, bus, ferry, and subway. Transport for independent exploration will be at the expense of the participant and may take many forms, including taxi, bus, train, subway and ferry.
All participants are responsible for getting themselves to and from Nashville for departure and return.
Academic program
All students must be enrolled in 3 credit hours during the spring semester to participate in this program. The following two courses are available:
ACC 586 International Experience in Accounting (junior level status required)
EGR 388 International Experience in Engineering
Students from any field are encouraged to apply but must have some background knowledge of the field for the course they apply to take part in.
