Herndon wins staff reelection bid
Orville Herndon, publications systems manager for the JMC Department, has been reelected to the MSU Staff Congress. He has been a member since 1994.
He has served five terms as president. He currently serves as the chair of the credentials and elections committee, chair of the bylaws review committee and is a member of the Faculty/Staff insurance and benefits committee. He participates in the president's faculty/staff leadership council.
A graduate of MSU in 1986 with a B.S. in business with an area in accounting, he earned the M.B.A degree in 1988.
He started working with the JMC Department as a student on The Murray State News and has been with the department since graduation. He has been the publications systems manager since 1991.
He maintains the department's computer systems, works with students on the newspaper staff and teaches JMC 213, Computer Techniques for Print Media. He is co-director of the high school workshop and produces several department publications, including the JMC Journal and the JMC Placement Book.
He is a consultant to several regional newspapers.
