Criteria for University Studies Courses

Toward that end, University Studies courses should address the following pedagogical concerns:

  1. Provide skills and content important for MSU students outside a specific discipline.
  2. Facilitate the development of at least one, and preferably more than one, of the Characteristics of the MSU Graduate as related to a particular thematic category.
  3. Include specific instructional strategies or course activities that engage students in the learning process, and promote students’ content knowledge and skills development.
