The
Geoscience Club is a student organization within the Department of Geosciences
that fosters fellowship between Geoscience majors and minors through club
activities such as monthly meetings, field trips, social gatherings,
fundraisers, and public outreach. The Geoscience Club derives its membership
from the Undergraduate and Graduate students across the sciences to form social
networks between various fields including geology, archaeology, geographic
information systems and remote sensing. The purpose of this club is to promote
friendship between fellow students, initiate student activities, and
investigate areas of interest in the Geoscience’s.

The Archaeology department is the newest addition to the club, furthering our goals to develop the link between archaeology and other fields in Geosciences. The Geoscience club aims to promote the study of archaeology at Murray State University, encourage awareness through public and community educational opportunities, support the conservation of archaeological sites via donations acquired through fundraising efforts, and to endorse the conservation of archaeological sites through volunteer efforts.
