THE FIVE-ACRE WOODS

Facilities

The Five-Acre Woods is a wooded site adjacent to Murray High School. The site is fenced, so unwanted disturbances can be prevented. Additionally, the area has been unused for some time, making it an ideal site for established long-term ecological studies.

In April 2001, a 20-meter square grid was established over the entire Five-Acre Woods site. This physical grid will serve as a landmark for making all future measurements.
