Post-master's FNP Certificate

      The faculty believe that all advanced practice nurses provide advanced nursing care specific to the health needs of families or individuals across the lifespan, advance and extend nursing knowledge through systematic investigation and experimentation, and assume a nursing leadership role within the health care delivery system.
      The family nurse practitioner (FNP) is an advanced practice nurse who provides primary health care services to all members of the family. Emphasis is placed on health promotion and preventive care across the life-span. The FNP is prepared to manage a wide range of acute and chronic health problems in a variety of settings.

      Certification to practice advanced nursing is required by law and is expected by the Department of Nursing.
