Withdrawal From All Classes

Students dropping all classes must complete a Withdrawal Form. Students (or their representative with student’s written permission) who live in the residential colleges must submit the Withdrawal Form to all areas listed on the form. Students who live off campus may mail the signed Withdrawal Form to Murray State University, Admissions and Registrar, 113 Sparks Hall, Murray, KY 42071-3312, USA; or send a fax to 270/809-3050. You will not be withdrawn from the semester until you complete this process. If the withdrawal form is mailed, the effective date will be the postmark date. All library books must be returned before a withdrawal form can be processed.

3. Is there a deadline for withdrawing from the semester?

Yes, there is a deadline. The dates to withdraw are listed in the University Calendar. Information on refunds are listed in the Schedule of Fees.

4. What will show on my transcript when I withdraw from the semester?

If you withdraw during the first week, your record will indicate only a withdrawal date, with no grades. The second through the ninth week, there will be W grades on your record. After the ninth week, and until the last week of school (before finals) grades of WP (withdraw passing) or WE (withdraw failing) are assigned by your instructors. The WP will not affect your grade point average; however, a WE will be figured as a failing grade when computing your grade point average. The dates to withdraw are listed in the University Calendar.
