There shall be a minimum of two scholarships awarded each year, one to a senior at Murray High School and one to a senior at Calloway County High School, both of whom are intending to enroll as full time students at Murray State University in the fall semester following announcement of the award. 3. Recipients of the scholarships shall be students of good character who demonstrate financial need. Recipients must have attended the Murray City of Calloway County middle school for a minimum of one year and must have graduated from the city or county high school. No child of an employee of People's First, nor any child of a director of People's Bank may be eligible for consideration. 4. Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by a committee of the school from which each recipient shall be graduating. Each committee will be comprised of the principal, counselor, a male and a female teacher, and the superintendent of each respective school system. 5. In the event the two high schools are combined in a merger, then a minimum of two scholarships shall be awarded to students from the resulting high school. 6. The scholarship awards shall be funded by interest earnings from an endowment established by the Bank of Murray. The minimum award shall be $750 per year, to be paid in equal installments over the two semesters of the academic year. 7. The Murray State University Foundation shall serve as administrator of the funds of the scholarship and shall invest all funds in a safe and prudent manner. At no time shall the principal of the endowed fund be invaded.
